1. Title of Hockey Tournament- XVI GAIL CHOTA NAGPUR  TRIBAL HOCKEY TOURNAMENT 2013-14 held during 6th  July to 1st September 2013 in Shivaji Stadium New Delhi  Organised by Hockey Association of Chota Nagpur Tribals, Delhi (Regd.)

  1. The final match of the XIV GAIL Chota Nagpur Tribal Hockey Tournament 201213 was played on 1st September, 2013 at Shivaji Hockey Stadium, Synthetic Turf Ground, New Delhi. The final match was played between Ekta Hockey Club and Masihgarh Hockey team.  The Chief Guests of the final match were Shri Amit Kumar Ray, Executive Director (HR & HRD) GAIL (I) Ltd was present to encourage the teams and organizing association  and Shri Paban Singh Ghatowar, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and who is very renowned personality and connected with social work for the tribal people in Assam. The other dignitaries include Dr. Rameshwar Oraon, Chairman, National Commission for Scheduled Tribe and Chief Patron of the Association, Fr. Victor D’souza of   Archdiocese of Delhi and Patron,  Mr. Kukoo Walia of Nehru Hockey, Mr. Dilip Chinoy, CEO & MD of National Skill Development Corporation, Mr. Bhupinder Singh and Mr. Ramlal of Hockey Delhi.  Other dignitaries include senior Government officials and senior officials from public sectors like Air India, GAIL, ONGC, etc., were present. A sizable crowd was also present to witness the final match.
  1. It is informed that as many as 28 men hockey teams have participated in the tournament. The teams were divided in seven groups of four teams each. The initial round of matches was played on league basis and knockout basis and eight top teams forming Group I & II were selected for Super League. Top two teams of each group were played in the Semi Finals. The teams qualified for Semi Finals were as under:

Ayanagar Hockey Club Jharkhand Sports Club
  1. The final match was inaugurated by Chief Guests & other guests with the introduction of both the teams at 3.30 pm. Before the match, Chief Guests and Guests of Honour were welcomed by traditional cultural group dance. The match started at very fast note with the attacks and counter attacks by the teams.  As the match progressed, it became interesting and game was enjoyed by the spectators. Ekta Hockey Club clinched the IV GAIL Chota Nagpur Tribal Hockey Tournament 2013-14 by defeating Masihgarh Hockey Club by 4 goals to 3. The umpires of the match were national umpires Shri Mahesh Kumar and Shri Amar Singh Negi who supervised the final match exceedingly well.  After the match, the prize distribution ceremony took place and cash awards sponsored by GAIL announced to winner i.e. Ekta Hockey Club, runners up team i.e.  Masihgarh Hockey Club and 3rd placed team i.e. Ayanagar sports Club of Rs. 50,000/-, Rs.25,000/- and Rs.10,000/- respectively.  The championship trophy was handed over to Ekta Hockey Club.
  1. Display cheques were handed over to above teams by Shri Paban Singh Ghatowar, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge) Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region on behalf of Chief Guests Shri Amit Kumar Ray, Executive Director (HR & HRD) GAIL (I) Ltd as Mr. Ray was to leave early for some other assignments. The Best Player prize (memento and cash prize of Rs.2500/-) of the tournament awarded to Mathedius Kullu of Masihgarh Hockey Club for his skillful game. The cash prize of Rs.2500/- for Youngest Player (15 years) of the tournament goes to Ashok Kullu of Masigarh Hockey team.

2. Title of Hockey Tournament- 1st INDIANOIL CHOTA NAGPUR WOMEN TRIBALS HOCKEY TOURNAMENT 2013-14 held during 30th September to 4th October 2013 in Shivaji Stadium, New Delhi  : Organised by Hockey Association of Chota Nagpur Tribals, Delhi (Regd.)

  1. The following Women Hockey Teams Participated in the 1st INDIANOIL CHOTA NAGPUR WOMEN TRIBAL HOCKEY TOURNAMENT 2013-14 held during 30th September to 4th October 2013 in Shivaji Stadium, New Delhi  :SIMDEGA HOCKEY CLUB (Jharkhand)AMBIKAPUR HOCKEY CLUB (Chhattisgarh)JASHPUR HOCKEY CLUB (Chhattisgarh)DELHI XI (local)2.       The initial matches were played on ‘round-robin’ basis and at the end of round robin matches un the basis of points the final standings of the teams were as under:1st Rank – SIMDEGA HOCKEY CLUB 2nd Rank – AMBIKAPUR HOCKEY CLUB 3rd Rank – JASHPUR HOCKEY CLUB4th Rank – DELHI XI

The final match of the 1st INDIANOIL CHOTA NAGPUR WOMEN TRIBAL HOCKEY TOURNAMENT 2013-14 was played on 4th October, 2013 at Shivaji Hockey Stadium, Synthetic Turf Ground, New Delhi between Simdega Hockey Club and Ambikapur Hockey Club (1st and 2nd Ranked teams). The Chief Guest of the final match was Shri Lee Bee Sen, Executive Director, M/s Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. However due to official engagement of Mr. Sen, Mr. K. J. Kumar, Dy General Manager (HR) and Shri H. D. Gandhi, General Manager of M/s Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. were present. The Guest of Honour of the day was Dr. Rameshwar Oraon, Chairman, National Commission for Scheduled Tribe and Chief Patron of the Association, Distinguished Guests include Fr. Vijay Kullu of St. Thomas Church, R K Puram, New Delhi,  Mr. Bhupinder Singh, General Secretary and Mr. N S Bindra Secretary both from Hockey Delhi and  other dignitaries include senior Government officials and senior officials from public sectors like Air India, GAIL, etc were  present. A sizable crowd was also present to witness the final match.
  3. The final match was inaugurated by Mr. K. J. Kumar, Dy General Manager (HR) and Shri H. D. Gandhi, General Manager of M/s Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. Guest of Honour Dr. Rameshwar Oraon, Chairman, National Commission for Scheduled Tribe & other guests with the introduction of both the teams. The players of both teams were dressed the logo of IndianOil on their shirts & skirts. The display boards & hoardings containing the logo & slogans of IndianOil all around the hockey ground. The match started at very fast note with the attacks and counter attacks by both the teams.  As the match progressed, it became interesting and game was enjoyed by the spectators. SIMDEGA HOCKEY CLUB defeated the AMBIKAPUR HOCKEY CLUB by 8 goals to nil and clinched the first ever 1st  IndianOil Chota Nagpur Women Tribal Hockey Tournament 2013-14. The umpires of the match were national umpires Shri Suresh Minj and Shri Selestine Baxla who supervised the final match exceedingly well.  After the match, the prize distribution ceremony took place and cash awards sponsored by IndianOil announced to winner i.e. SIMDEGA HOCKEY CLUB, runners up team i.e.  AMBIKAPUR HOCKEY CLUB. The championship trophy was handed over to SIMDEGA HOCKEY CLUB. Prior to this in a keenly contested match between JASHPUR HOCKEY CLUB and DELHI XI for 3rd Place DELHI XI defeated JASHPUR HOCKEY CLUB by 4 goals to 1.5.      Display cheques were handed over to above teams by Chief Guests and Distinguished Guests. First Prize (cash & trophy) for Winner – Rs.40,000/-  for  SIMDEGA HOCKEY CLUB Second Prize (cash & trophy) for Runners-Up – Rs.25,000/- for AMBIKAPUR HOCKEY CLUBThird Prize (cash) for 3rd Placed Team – Rs.20,000/- for DELHI XIConsolation Prize (cash) for 4th Placed team – Rs.10,000/- for JASHPUR HOCKEY CLUBThe ‘Best Player of the Tournament’ award went to (a memento and cash prize of Rs.3,000/-) Ranjita  Minj (shirt no.2)  of SIMDEGA HOCKEY CLUB for her skillful game. In the end Shri Sushil Lakra, President of the Hockey Association of Chota Nagpur Tribals thanked all dignitaries for their support specially Mr. Lee Bee Sen, ED and Mr. K J Kumar, DGM (HR) as without their initiatives in respect of financial support, the tournament would not have become successful.

3. Title of Hockey Tournament- 3rd ONGC CHOTA NAGPUR  TRIBAL HOCKEY TOURNAMENT 2013-14 held between 1st March to 30th March 2014 in Shivaji Stadium New Delhi : Organised by Hockey Association of Chota Nagpur Tribals, Delhi (Regd.)

  1. It is reported that as many as 28 men hockey teams have participated in the 3rd  ONGC CHOTA NAGPUR  TRIBAL HOCKEY TOURNAMENT 2013-14 held between 1st March to 30th March at Synthetic Turf of Shivaji Stadium (NDMC ground), New Delhi. The teams were divided in Eight Groups.
  2. The initial round of matches was played on round- robin/league basis in each group and eight Group Leaders joined in the knock out matches. Four teams qualified for Semi-Finals are as under:C N BluesChirag Delhi ‘A’Huda City ‘B’Jharkhand SportsC N Blues and Jharkhand Sports were defeated their rivals in the Semi Final matches played at Synthetic Turf of Shivaji Stadium, New Delhi on 29.3.2014.
  3. The final match of the 3rd ONGC CHOTA NAGPUR TRIBAL HOCKEY TOURNAMENT 2013-14 was played on 30th March 2014 at Shivaji Hockey Stadium, Synthetic Turf Ground, New Delhi. The Final Match was played between C N Blues Hockey Club and Jharkhand Sports Hockey team. The Chief Guest of the final match was Fr. M C George, Founder & Administrator of Don Bosco Technical Institute in North East Region specifically in Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and Bhutan and presently CEO of ‘Bosconet’ was present to encourage the teams and organizing association. Fr. George is very much connected with social work for the Youth, poor people including tribal people in North East as well as across the country through the Don Bosco Technical institutes. Mr. Surinder Singh, Ex- IAS and Managing Director of Shaan Group of Companies  who works for the cause of needy people specifically young people was the Guest of Honour on this day.. Fr. Victor D’souza of   Archdiocese of Delhi and Patron, Mr. Kukoo Walia of Nehru Hockey and Chairman- Umpire Board of Hockey India, Mr. Bhupinder Singh, General Secretary of Hockey Delhi and other dignitaries including senior Government officials and senior officials from public sectors like Air India, GAIL, etc., People of NGOs relating to development of tribal people were present. A sizable crowd was also present to witness the final match.
  4. Before the match, Chief Guests and Guests of Honour were welcomed by traditional cultural group dance by Hauz Khas Cultural Group led by Shri David Baxla. The final match was inaugurated by Chief Guest & Guest of Honour with the introduction of both the teams at 3.30 pm. The match started at very fast note with the attacks and counter attacks by the teams.  Jharkhand Sports Club mostly with experienced players forged ahead by three goals by 19 minutes of play in the first half of the match.     As the match progressed, it became interesting and game was enjoyed by the spectators as comparatively younger team C N Blues started repeated raids at the goal of Jharkhand Sports. C N Blues Managed to stop the rival team for scoring more goals and able to score only two goals till the final whistle. The umpires of the match were National Umpires Shri Arun Kumar and Shri Amar Singh Negi who supervised the final match exceedingly well.  After the match, the prize distribution ceremony took place and cash awards sponsored by ONGC announced to winner i.e. Jharkhand Sports Hockey Club, runners up team i.e.  C N Blues Hockey Club and 3rd placed team i.e. Chirag Delhi ‘A’  Hockey Club of Rs. 50,000/-, Rs.25,000/- and Rs.10,000/- respectively.  The championship trophy was handed over to Jharkhand Sports Hockey Club. Display cheques were handed over to above teams by Chief Guest Fr. M C George of Don Bosco Technical Institute and CEO of Bosconet and Guest of Honour Mr. Surinder  Singh, Ex-IAS and Managing Director of Shaan Group of Companies. The Best Player of the Tournament prize (memento and cash prize of Rs.5,000/-) of the tournament awarded to Dilber Toppo of C N Blues Hockey Club for his inspirational game to his team.
