I welcome you all Hockey lovers from India as well as other countries to this website. Hockey Association of Chota Nagpur Tribals (Registered under societies act 1860) committed to the development of less privileged people such as tribals of India specifically originated from the Chota Nagpur Plateau consisting of parts of Jharkhand, Chattisgarh and Odisha states.
This is my privilege to share some of my experience of the activities of the Hockey Association of Chota Nagpur Tribals. As you are aware, the association is organising three hockey tournaments annually, one tournament is held exclusively for Girls during the month of September/ October and other two tournaments are organised before and after the Girl’s tournament. The Men’s Hockey Tournaments are conducted during the weekends only whereas Girl’s Tournament is conducted within the period of 7 days.
I found that the players of Chota Nagpur Region who are enthusiastically looking for participating in these tournaments without fail every year. Since the tournaments are considered as one of the medium to grow and develop the tribal community as a whole, many public and private sector units have come forward to sponsor the tournament. I sincerely wish to thank them from my bottom of the heart because the conducts of the tournaments are successful with their support only. Hockey India, who is currently national sports body for the game of hockey, has also supported the association in a big way. I want to inform the readers that the association has been given the exemption under 80G of Income Tax Act Government of India for the donation given to the Association. The donations are welcome.
I also thank to our Patron Shri Rameshwar Oraon Ji to wholehearted support to the association in every aspect. The volunteers are doing excellent job to run the hockey tournament. Without their support it is not possible to conduct three tournaments. Shri Nicholas Xalxo, Secretary and Shri Laurence Kullu, Treasurer are putting a great work to achieve the objectives of Hockey Association.
The association is coming with an improved website to update you on various activities undertaken by it. I request your valuable inputs to improve the website.
